Welcome to Portrait of a Pear Tree, a virtual portrait of myself, through my art work.
For this blog, it seemed natural to create a branch (pun intended) from our Pear Tree site, to build my virtual gallery, where I can showcase and sell my paintings online (something I should have done long ago). Embracing this tool, I hope to reach a larger audience than through traditional means in a physical, commercial gallery setting.
As well as posting new, completed works, I intend to give glimpses into the process; inspiration and creation of some of my works. My wife, Lori-Anne, is the writer in the family, so my site may become more of a photo-blog, as I tend to get carried away and become long-winded. I will let the images speak for themselves.
The focus for the next several months will be a series of one hundred, 10 x 10 inch acrylic paintings on canvas. Oh yes. No small task with a family and full time job. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to the challenge ahead, and hope you will join me on this crazy visual journey, and perhaps purchase one of the 100 works about to be created.
Now it’s time to paint!
