We don’t have much in the way of a yard. I call it our postage stamp. But there’s enough room for a few pots, and the opportunity to feel like we’re exercising our green thumbs and nurturing a little (very little) corner of our planet.
Mr. Pear Tree recently brought home a beautiful selection of plants – some rose bushes, lemon balm and… something I don’t recognize. Anyone know what this is???
And I just happen to be the mother of a little girl who loves to nurture – or at the very least, water the life out of – all my plants. She watches for any sign of change or growth or blossom. She pulls out little weeds. Sometimes they’re actually weeds. And she finds great joy tending to the growing, living things that make our world a more beautiful place.
It should be interesting to see how her gardening skills – and mine! – develop over this summer.
What are your plans for the garden this year?
