What I Wore This Rainy Wednesday

I’m not actually in mourning over the loss of our summer to (ahem) rain, clouds, and the occasional thunder clap and lightening bolt. But feel free to interpret my all-black garb, today, as just that if it pleases you.

Perhaps, somewhere in the recesses of my subconscious, that had some inspiration.

I’m a touch reticent to admit that everything I’m wearing hails from the same place: Super Store’s Joe. I don’t mean to be a walking advertisement but I’m a sucker for a low price, and the Joe line kinda emulates the likes of Gap or Mexx, but for sometimes close to half the price. But I often feel self-conscious coming in to shop wearing all their clothes.

The cup, though, is Starbucks. I love it’s ergonomic-yet-fanciful handle, and sassy lime colour. We also have a set of burnt orange ones.

Awe, look who jumped into the frame with me. Her outfit all came from one place, too – Value Village!

I fell in love with these (Joe) shoes as soon as I laid eyes on them on a clearance rack, two years ago. We’re almost inseparable, these ballet-style flats and I. We’re going to get a touch wet when we go out in the rain this arvo, but it’s June, gan-nabbit, and I’m going to wear summer shoes, I am, I am, I am!

What’s the weather like where you are? It seems all my Facebook friends, from all over North America, are faced with a cool, rainy summer, as well. I sure hope it clears up, soon!

Solidarity! Yup, it’s raining here, too, L-A. Yesterday there was even some spectacular thunder and lightning! (I, for one, am not complaining: in Alberta ours is usually a dry cold…)

Today is a pyjama day (Winnie the Pooh white and purple PJs, with the caption “Everyone needs a thinking place”). I keep expecting the doorbell to ring, but with any luck the rain will keep my campus neighbours home and dry.

You look great in black, by the way! 🙂

off to drink coffee, inspired by this blog(ger)

  2. Love your ensemble. Again two days of rain has washed away your memory of sunshine. I certainly enjoyed a beautiful sunny weekend in Ktown and had a lovely cup of tea with a dear friend on my sunny back deck Monday.
