Tenuously the first drops come.
And then more,
It’s overcast, and raining. It’s been raining all day, and on and off yesterday, as well.
I’m not complaining, though. I love the rain.
I love the soft, wet drops on my hands and face.
I love trench coats and raincoats and umbrellas and gum boots.
I love the green of the glistening grass below the contrast of grey overhead.
I love the pit, pat, patter pat of the showers hitting windows and roofs and eaves troughs.
I love a cup of tea – only tea for this occasion – as I sit by a window and watch.
I love running and dancing and splashing through puddles like a five-year-old.
I love the soul-cleansing effect of a good fall of rain.
