Bought: Baby Doll Cradle

This morning I popped into the Women’s Emergency Shelter Thrift Shop on Lawrence Avenue, downtown in Kelowna, on a treasure hunting expedition. I hadn’t even gotten all the way through the door when my eyes fell on this little beauty.
It’s a wooden, swinging cradle – presumably hand made, in brand new condition. The perfect accessory for my own baby’s baby dolls.
Of course, being not even a year old, my daughter’s doll collection is still a bit scant (it currently consists of one (1) little rag doll). If she’s anything like her mother, she may never get into the whole baby doll thing. But for $10 I think it’s worth the gamble. Even if she doesn’t, it will make a charming accessory to her room, which is evolving more slowly than I expected.
What I need to decide now is what to do with it. Do I leave it in its natural wood state? Stain it? Paint it? Maybe do some white shabby chic? I know the pink heart (see below) is a gonner – if not removed than at least it will be painted over. I’m open to suggestions – what do you think?

Well, I love it the way it is. It’s beautiful natural state, feels organic and soft to me.. you could paint your daughters name on the pink heart. Great find.
I’ll have to check that place out.. don’t think I’ve ever been there.
I think it needs something. Yeah the heart can go. Maybe stained a dark brown or painted white. Will it match your little girl’s bedroom? It’s beautiful and what a find for $10!!
